Happy July 4th and welcome to the new site!  To kick things off here, I would like to introduce you to one of the largest gun batteries ever built in the US.  It now stands alone in a swamp on a small coastal island in New England.  The fortifications were created during WWII as part of a network of fire towers, pill boxes and other defenses to fend off attacks on the mainland.

Two cavernous entrances with steel bulkheads lie below the now missing 66 foot long guns which once fired 2,200 pound shells.  These lead into a 300 foot long, extremely dark tunnel and many sometimes flooded rooms inside the man made berm.

I have just released a video (below) which takes you through the swamp and inside the tunnels.
